The outer ear Sounds are picked up by the outer ear which consists of the pinna and the ear canal. The pinna is the external projection of the temporary hearing ear. The outer ear serves to increase the loudness of the sound waves that enter the ear. The ear canal also has another important function: to protect the eardrum. The eardrum is a flexible, circular membrane which temporary hearing vibrates when affected by sound waves. The middle ear The sound vibrations continue their journey from the outer ear into the middle ear via the eardrum. Here, there are three tiny bones often called the hammer, anvil temporary hearing and stirrup. These bones form a kind of bridge from the eardrum into the inner ear. In addition to transmitting the sound vibrations, they also increase and amplify them. The oval window is temporary hearing the last place the vibrations pass through before they enter the inner ear. The inner ear Once the amplified sound waves have passed through the oval window, they continue into the inner ear. The inner ear has a system of tubes temporary hearing which is filled with a watery fluid, the fluid is put into motion, which, in turn, vibrates the tiny hair cells in an organ called the cochlea. The hair cells transform the vibrations into electrical impulses that travel along the auditory nerve [Email: info@youth.hear-it.org] |
